The Sydney Morning Herald, 16.01.14 ‘Shots fired as boat turned back: police’
Australian navy personnel fired warning shots into the air as they turned around an unseaworthy asylum seeker vessel, Indonesian authorities said. Reports of the incident emerged as the Immigration Minister, Scott Morison, said the number of asylum seekers registering with the United Nations in Jakarta had fallen dramatically.
